This Fellowship is an exclusive leadership development program for mid-career female professionals working in insurance, risk management, sustainability, and ESG across Africa.
It's an intensive 4-month journey focused on accelerating our fellows' leadership skills, strategic thinking, global connections, and career trajectories to help drive them into executive roles.
The program includes:
3 months of remote leadership, strategic thinking, and technical skills training.
Executive-level mentors providing 1:1 career coaching
Building an influential peer network across Africa.
Working on real-world industry challenges.
An immersive 5-day session diving into innovation and sustainability trends.
Ongoing collaboration to implement solutions for pressing issues.
The WLIAfrica Fellowship aims to diversify leadership in finance and risk management by equipping the top female talent with the compounding knowledge, tools, visibility and sponsorship to exponentially amplify their impact.
Fellows gain access to a lifelong community committed to their advancement into highest levels of industry influence. It's a launching pad to leapfrog women into shaping the future of finance and business in Africa.
Enhance career mapping and clarity of professional goals.
Expand technical knowledge, and the understanding of sustainability and ESG practices in the insurance industry.
Complete a collaborative project addressing a real-world insurance challenge.
Acquire leadership skills to assume higher-level roles and responsibilities.
Increase professional network and access to mentorship opportunities.
Foster a sense of community and support among the cohort members.
The 4-month fellowship commences with a 3-month intensive virtual training phase, followed by a 5-day in-person immersive session, culminating in a -month collaboration phase with ongoing guidance from assigned executive mentors.

The WLIAfrica Fellowship seeks high-potential mid-career female professionals working within insurance, risk management, sustainability or ESG fields based in Africa.
Female professionals working in insurance, risk management, sustainability, or ESG in Africa.
Minimum of 5 years of work experience in the industry.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Demonstrated leadership potential and commitment to professional development.
Interest in advancing their careers in the insurance industry in Africa.
